Invoicing > Understanding Invoice Groups

Invoice Groups are used to align the invoice dates of a customer's agreements so that they are invoiced at the same time. Any pro-rata dates will be set accordingly.

For example, a customer has an invoice group to align their agreements to the first of the month. They have two agreements on this invoice group, both aligned to the 1st December to match the Invoice Group. A third agreement has an invoice date of 16th November. When the third agreement is added to the invoice group, it will be aligned with the group, in this case the 1st December. Pro-rata dates will be added from the 16th November to the 30th November. The diagram below demonstrates this Invoice Group setup.

Each invoice group has a "Master agreement". Once you have synchronised the agreements with the group, they will continue to be invoiced and therefore the invoice date for the group will keep moving forwards. The master agreement is used so that you don't have to keep adjusting the alignment date on the invoice group.
